Tudor a ajuns la Viena - Tudor has arrived to Vienna

Din pacate are o pneumonie, trebuie tratat si stabilizat inainte de a intra luni in operatie.

On Wednesday Tudor was transported to Vienna, in spite of the long trip (luckily most of the ride was not on the  romanian roads but on the highway), he arrived safely, but his condition is not the best. Unfortunately he has a pneumonia and must be treated and brought to a stable condition of oxygen before entering the surgery. At the moment he is in Intesive care and all the necessary things are done in order to proceed with the operation on Monday.
This surgery is very difficult, the heart must be reconstructed, this will be the first of some future surgeries that are required in order for the baby to be ok, it is estimated to be an over 12 hours operation.
Thank you  to all of you who are supporting Tiplea family, we expect further donations of any kind, but Tudor needs especially your prayers, especially on Monday while he is being operated.

Saptamana 3 - Cursa contracronometru

Week 3 - The race

I am trying to imagine how this week has been for Anca and Ionel when they cannot decide what’s harder, the fight with Tudor’s illness or with the Romanian healthcare system. You must be  a strong person  not to break down under the constant barrage of documents, signatures and red tape for inexplicable reasons. Those who have gone through this know better what I am talking about. I want to just let everybody know what's Tudor’s situation  right now, he is stable. We are hoping that all the documents will be done shortly and on Wednesday morning Tudor will be transported by a special ambulance to a clinic in Vienna where he is scheduled for a surgery.

The parents have decided not to take him to Linz because of the high costs for transportation (18000 euro!!) and because the surgery would have been performed only in December since the CAS Romanian Healthcare hasn’t paid their bills on time (surprise!!) which would have been too late for Tudor. We are hoping with all our heart that the little baby boy leaves on Wednesday in the ambulance that costs only 3000 euros (the parents need also this amount). This will be the first surgery and if it is successful, at least two more will be needed (the next one will be within 3-6 months).

All this costs a lot and we would like to thank you in advance on their behalf for all the moral, spriritual and financial help provided. We welcome all your prayer. Anca goes everyday to Cluj (for those who may not know the road to Baia-Mare to Cluj is an adventure since it is under construction). That is about 4 hours in the car at least on a daily basis after delivering a baby less than 48 hours ago. I would like to express my admiration for this mother for, what she is doing for her son, baby Tudor.

May God help them to be strong in the next days and may He help baby Tudor to arrive safely to Vienna!

Week 2

How can we define this week of Tudor’s life seen from his parents angle? They went from deep sadness to happiness, from being hopeless to hopeful again starting on Tuesday to present, since Tudor started breathing by himself.
On Monday the doctors told the parents that Tudor had no chances to live therefore they were just waiting in the car totally hopeless for the pronouncement of the end of their baby’s life… if that’s God’s will that’s it. At the end, who are we to decide upon life or death?
But God has other plans for Tudor and starting from Tuesday there is a hope, a slim one though, therefore the parents started a war against Romanian’s paperwork to be able to admit Tudor into a clinic in Linz, Austria.
This surgery could give Tudor a new heart (which now has only 2 chambers instead of 4), a chance to live and be happy, a chance that every child deserves.
But for this  there is a need of substantial financial help… we will post  more details about the costs and date of the surgery. We will also post all the medical documents for you to review.

Saptamana 1- O veste zguduitoare

Week 1 – A terrible news
“Hi, my name is Tudor and I am 54cm and 3.98 kg…” that was the text message sent to welcome baby boy Tudor Tiplea to the world on October 10th 2011. To those ready to meet the little baby like family, friends, parents coworkers, neighbors, etc… Tudor was a very expected baby.
But the happiness didn't last much because in the night between 11 to 12 October the nightmare started. Tudor has major health issues and needed to be transferred immediately to Cluj. There the doctors gave a fatal verdict: “hypoplasia left cord” with minimum chances of survival. The news brought everybody down. The family  started driving daily to Cluj, with no hope, just huge stress… They were told that IF the baby survives one week there could be done a first surgery, but none of the doctors believed there was a hope since more complications might appear, etc.
The parents lived a nightmare, driving for hours and just waiting in the hospital Ginecologie 1 in Cluj. These first days should have been the happiest days, just getting to know the baby in his house with his family but these days turned out to be a huge fight for Tudor, struggling to survive  with the life support system, to stay alive a few more hours, fighting with this horrible illness, with doctors' negativity, with no hope to live or a chance to life.
Sometimes we, who believe we know and can do everything, forget that all the things are in God’s hand and only in moments of need we remember Him and call upon His name, and He does answer our prayers.
I don’t know how many people have been praying for this child but there were many people from the entire country because every day, every hour, every minute that Tudor survives  IS a miracle… and during this first week the parents have been living emotions that other people experience (or don't) during in a lifetime.. (I can only imagine...)
